One day,a tortoise was walking down a road.He was walking very slowly.

A hare saw him and laughed."You are so slow!"

"You are wrong,"said the tortoise."I'm not slow,but I don't like to hurry."

"I'm right!"said the hare."Let's have a race!I can easily win!"

"Sure,"said the tortoise."Let's have a race to the lake."

"I'm going to win!"said the hare,and he ran down the road.

The hare ran and ran.Soon he felt tired.He stopped."I would like to sleep,"thought the hare.

"The tortoise is so slow,I can sleep and win the race,too."

The hare went to sleep under a tree.

The hare slpt,but the tortoise walked and walked.He walked slowly,but he didn't stop.He didn't stop stop when he saw the hare sleeping under the tree.He didn't wake up the hare.He smiled and walked down the road.

After many hours,the hare opened his eyes.

He jumped up."Oh no!"he thought."I have slept too long!"He ran down the road to the lake."I'm going to win!"he thought.Then he saw the tortoise.The tortoise was already there.

The tortoise laughed and said,"I win the race!"
